How to decide
- Keeping the phone: repair it if the price is well below what a replacement would cost.
- Selling soon: repair first only if the working value minus the repair price is clearly more than the as-is offer.
- Older phone or several faults: if the repair is a large share of the phone’s value, selling as it is is usually simpler.
- Water damage: it can hide other faults, so an as-is sale is often the safer choice.
