How to check your iPhone battery health
Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health. If Maximum Capacity is below 80%, or you see a “Service” message, the battery is worn and should be replaced.
Signs you need a new iPhone battery
- Battery drains fast or will not last a day
- iPhone shuts down at 20–30%
- The phone feels slow or hot
- The screen is lifting or the back is bulging. Stop charging and contact us straight away.
Good to know
On recent iPhones, Settings may show a notice about the battery after it is replaced. We explain your battery options before we start. Battery drain straight after an iOS update is often temporary: see iOS 27 battery drain.
